Stories from Equipping the Saints: ETS Strengthens the Long-Term Viability of Outreach for Hope

One of the two primary initiatives of the Equipping the Saints mission appeal is Innovation & Collaboration, with Outreach for Hope designated as the recipients of Collaboration funds.

OFH received an initial grant in March of 2022 to develop long-term fundraising and planned giving capabilities to ensure long-term viability for growing collaborative ministries. With the grant monies, the Executive Director and Board met with a fundraising consultant to discuss and vision ways that the ministry could encourage and support collaboration through the Outreach for Hope Ministry partners and throughout the synod.

Pastor Chris Manke addresses the importance of receiving Equipping the Saints funds:

“The financial support of the Equipping the Saints campaign has helped us grow in our fund-raising efforts and strengthen our ability to deepen the relationships between congregations and individuals alike. We have just begun, but I look forward to how this new learning and direction will continue to help foster growth for our organization and in turn for our synod ministries as well.”

The Equipping the Saints Campaign has a goal that each member of the Greater Milwaukee Synod has a chance to hear the story and decide for themselves if they desire to make a financial gift to help us reach the goal. The first step in that campaign is normally to have a council presentation by video. Contact Joyce Caldwell at joyce.caldwell@gmselca.org to learn how to make that presentation to your congregation.

Congregation leader training begins in November. This training is for whoever will lead your appeal in the congregation and is great continuing education for your Stewardship Team to learn all about conducting a special gifts appeal. Send as many people as you like, and feel free to send your stewardship team even if you have not had the council visit presentation yet.
