Stories from Equipping the Saints: First Congregation to Join ETS Campaign Sees Increased Awareness, Participation and Generous Giving

Four congregations volunteered to serve as First-Round Congregations for Equipping the Saints. St Olaf in Rubicon was the first congregation to conduct the five-week campaign and completed the appeal in early March 2022, exceeding their goal.

Pastor Tom Pietz shares the meaning of participating in this mission appeal:

“St. Olaf is an uncommonly active, missional church in the countryside between Hartford and Oconomowoc. We are about as far out from Milwaukee as any congregation in our Synod. We are all about partnerships. The Equipping the Saints Campaign reinforced St. Olaf’s vision and emphasis to expand our reach of service and relationships through the incredible array of churches, ministries, and mission opportunities our GREAT Milwaukee Synod provides. This 5 week process of sharing highlights of such partnership opportunities dramatically increased awareness, participation, and generous giving among us. Blessed to be a blessing, we surpassed our goal of $15K to raise nearly $20K. Praise God!

The congregational portion of the Equipping the Saints Campaign is underway now. Thank you to the congregations who have already participated and we look forward to those who are ready to learn more! Congregations are not being asked to give through their budgets, but instead simply share the story of the campaign and let your members decide if they would like to participate with a gift.

The process begins with a video presentation for your council. To be equipped to share the opportunity with your council, please join us for an info session on Zoom on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:30pm, or Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 10am.
