“I agreed to serve as the General Campaign Chair because I believe it is critical that we in the Church maintain hope to be revitalized and relevant in the 21st century. I gave because I believe if we reach/surpass our financial and visionary goals laid out in this appeal, then we, our congregations, and our relationships with others will be made new. Together, our gifts to this campaign will seed the future of the Church for the seven generations to come. That’s a legacy we can live with!”
– Rev. Marilyn Miller
“Over the 27 years Gerry and I lived in Milwaukee and the 17 years I served as bishop, I became so aware of the many facets of life and ministry that take place in what I believe continues to be one of the very vital synods in our church. It’s a place where the church seeks vitality in congregations and vitality in society in so many ways. So when we saw that you were positioning those ministries for strength in the future, we wasted no time to add our support. We hope and trust that others will do the same. Thanks for the years of partnership…that continue.”
– Former Bishop Peter Rogness

For some, gifts to the campaign will begin in 2020, but the beginning date is flexible, depending on your circumstances. The intent card has a place for you to indicate how and when you intend to fulfill your commitment.
Most gifts will be made over a three-year period. However, if you feel you can make a larger gift by extending the time, you are welcome to do so. You may also make a one-time gift or make payments for less than three years.
Yes. Gifts of property, appreciated stock, mutual funds, cash value from insurance policies or policy loan proceeds, certificates of deposits (CDs), bonds, and annuities are just some of the ways you can give. Commitments of planned estate gifts are being sought specifically to build endowments for Campus Ministry and Outreach For Hope initiatives. All of these non-cash gifts may be subject to restrictions and limitations, so it is wise to consult your financial advisor or accountant.
Note: Contact Lee Johnston (414.671.1212) at the Synod Office for information on making non-cash gifts.
Important! To avoid the capital gains tax, do not sell or cash out the asset yourself (unless you are trying to capture a capital loss).
